The images of this custom built motorcycle, which is heavily inspired from the Ducati Hypermotard, landed in our inbox courtesy Sanjay Savadatti. The folks responsible for creating this unique motorcycle are based in Belgaum and are called Unique Wheels. While the motorcycle in the images is based on a Hero MotoCorp Karizma, it also uses various bits from other products like Honda Unicorn, Bajaj Pulsar 200NS, Yamaha FZ-S and the YZF-R15.
This custom motorcycle uses a Hero MotoCorp Karizma’s engine and the chassis. The chassis was cut right under the tank, and was then customised for that typical Italian look. It uses a bolt-on sub-frame, something similar to what we’ve already seen on the new generation KTM 390 Duke. While the stock 223cc Air cooled, 4-stroke single cylinder OHC engine on the Karizma is tuned to deliver 17 PS, this custom motorcycle, with its HKS free-flow exhaust and K&N Air Filter should’ve added a small bump in numbers.
Those numbers are a small fraction of what the actual Ducati makes, but so is the price. The whole set up, including the price of the donor bike, cost about INR 95,000.
Apart from the custom built chassis, the entire bodywork is hand built. Other features include a Honda Unicorn sourced monoshock rear suspension, Bajaj Pulsar 200NS headlight, Yamaha FZ-S front forks and YZF-R15’s rear brake setup. The alloys have been retained from the donor motorcycle. The custom built motorcycle rides on Dunlop Monster 130/90-18 section tyre at the rear and 100/90-18 unit at the front.
